[0:00] with me and turn to the Gospel of Luke chapter 11. We continue walking through what is typically called the Lord's Prayer, but really it's the disciples' prayer. It's the prayer that the Lord gave to the disciples to pray. He's teaching. He was asked to teach us to pray, and this is what He taught.
[0:25] So we come today to the very first request. How would be thy name? I think that's usually very much misunderstood, and so I want to spend some time. And as we found out in class this morning, if you don't believe, go down and look at the board.
[0:48] It's full. There's a lot here. This is big when we start to think about it. And one of my reasons for us taking time with this prayer to just take one request a week is I could kind of just tell you real quick what each means, but I don't know that that really soaks in.
[1:10] That really gets in. I want us to think this through. If this is really our prayer, then we want to see it, how full it is.
[1:22] So that's my prayer today. So if you're able, please stand as I read from Luke chapter 11. We're just going to read verses 1 to 4. Then we'll pray and then we'll dig in.
[1:33] Luke 11, verse 1. Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught His disciples.
[1:49] And He said to them, when you pray, say, Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.
[2:00] Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us, and lead us not into temptation.
[2:15] So it reads. Let's pray for understanding. Father, guide us today as we look at the first request that Jesus teaches us to pray. Give us insight.
[2:27] Give us practical understanding so we can apply this. And we can see the many ways that it applies to guide our prayer every day.
[2:38] We pray this in Christ's name. Amen. Please be seated. So have you ever struggled with what to pray?
[2:52] You know, you encounter a new situation, a new struggle, a new issue, an uncertain future. You don't know how to pray. You don't know how to pray.
[3:02] Years ago, I was driving to the hospital to visit a member of our church who was dying of AIDS. Dying of AIDS.
[3:14] Okay? This was my first pastorate in San Jose, and in one year, I did three AIDS funerals. Yeah.
[3:24] We were a little church. It was interesting. So anyway, so I'm going to visit him. He's a member. He's a Christian man. He's converted, right?
[3:36] But he's suffering for past issues, right? So there he's dying in the hospital, and I'm driving to the hospital thinking, I don't know what to do with this.
[3:50] How do I pray for this man? How do I, you know, how do I do this? And it's kind of like, you know, you're driving. I'm saying, Lord, guide me. And he's kind of like, it's one of those moments where he's like, hello?
[4:02] Anybody home? Hello? Because I had just been teaching on the Lord's Prayer. And he's kind of like, hello? I just taught you how to pray. And all of a sudden, it was like, wow, I have six great prayer requests to pray for this man.
[4:23] About God's name, but God's kingdom, God's will, the daily bread, physical issues, the relational issues of forgiveness, and then the spiritual battle. There's six great prayers that Jesus gives to us to pray.
[4:38] That's the skeleton. If we pack those out, there's, everything we could ever pray for is covered in these six areas. He does not, he has not given us a word to simply recite.
[4:53] He says, when you pray, say, not recite, say, ask, ask, talk about. Okay, in Matthew, it is, pray then in this manner.
[5:11] Not so much the words, but the manner, the structure. Okay, enough of that. So, so how do we pray? How do we pray in uncertain times? How do we pray when we have a crucial decision?
[5:23] How do we pray when we're in a relationship that's struggling? How do we pray for a lost one? How do we pray with some content?
[5:35] content? This is what Jesus shows us. And if we can grasp this, it will revolutionize your prayers.
[5:47] It'll give you confidence in your prayers. That doesn't mean that there will be times we're struggling or we're uncertain and all that, but at least I have something to hang the thoughts on.
[5:59] Okay, so, last time we talked about who do we address? Jesus wants us to address the Father. There's nothing wrong with praying to Jesus or praying to the Holy Spirit, but Jesus wants us to address the Father because when we pray, we speak to the Father in the name of Jesus with the help of the Spirit.
[6:25] See, that's how it works. All three members of the Godhead are involved when we pray. We come in the name of Jesus the whole reason we can come to the Father is because of Jesus.
[6:38] My name's not good enough to enter the gates of heaven, but I come in Jesus' name and that gets me in. That's my way in. He's the way, truth, and the life. He's the door. His name.
[6:50] And he told us that in the upper room. Pray in my name. Pray in my name. Pray in my name. Ask in my name. Ask in my name after I'm gone. Right? And then, of course, we know about praying in the Holy Spirit.
[7:02] Praying in the Holy Spirit means praying with the Holy Spirit. Praying with the help of the Holy Spirit. Praying with the assistance of the Holy Spirit. With the comfort. With the power of the Holy Spirit. We're praying with the Spirit.
[7:12] So it's all three. We don't exclude anything. But we talk about the Father. And that makes it personal. Nowhere in the Old Testament was God addressed as Father in prayer.
[7:26] He was discussed as a Father. He was like a Father. But He was never addressed as Father. Never that intimate. In fact, when Jesus talked about God as His Father, the Jews wanted to stone Him.
[7:41] So, it's about relationship. It's about dependence. And we saw in the Old Testament last week we spent some time just talking about the Father. What's Father? Well, in the New Testament it's full.
[7:53] It's about God as our Father who knows and provides our needs. He gives us new life so that we become His child. Then He adopts us. He promises that He will never leave us.
[8:04] He gives us a new identity as a saint and not a sinner. And He treats us as His sons and daughters by disciplining, by training, by teaching, but for our good and to share His holiness.
[8:19] Father. So now we come to the first request. So what does He want us to pray first? What is the priority? And I find this interesting too.
[8:32] We pray about the things of God before we pray about the things of us. And I think if you do this you'll find it revolutionary.
[8:43] I come with, I want to pray about my bread and I want to pray about my forgiveness and I want to pray about my spiritual battle. Those are my burdens. But Jesus says when I come pray about the Father first.
[8:56] And when you do that it transforms by the time I get to my stuff my stuff doesn't seem so heavy anymore. Just interesting. It's the way Jesus wants us to do it.
[9:08] So what about this one? The first one. Hallowed be thy name. Why is this first? What does it mean? So let's break it into two parts. There's the verb. There's the subject.
[9:19] Thy name. And then the request. Hallowed be. Let's break it to those two parts. Talk about the name first. Thy name.
[9:30] Is his reputation. Name is about reputation. And that's our first concern. So why is name significant? The name stands for all that he is.
[9:41] It's the sum of his nature. His character. His perfections. His reputation. So think about this. If I say the name Disney. Does that mean anything?
[9:54] Is there a certain reputation that comes with that name? Of course there is. I could name different car bottles. And you say oh yeah. Rolls Royce. Yeah. Volkswagen. Okay. Kia. Kia.
[10:04] Not Kia. That's not a car is it? Kia. You know. You would have a different picture. You'd have a different sense. A different reputation. Right. Some cars say oh that's an expensive one.
[10:15] You know. Or that's an easy one. What about the name Abe Lincoln? What about the name Trump? Got a reputation.
[10:26] Right. Doesn't. I'm not going to say what it is. It has a reputation. You could name lots of names. Name is about reputation.
[10:40] So. Names are significant in scripture. Abraham. Right. He's Abram. And then he's Abraham. Right. Significant. Because he becomes the father of a multitude.
[10:51] Jacob. Jacob. That's a significant name. They call him Jacob. Which means what? Heel grabber. Which really means what? Deceiver. Underhanded. You know. And that's what he was.
[11:02] Yes. And so we see the name play out. Right. So. God's name.
[11:13] Psalm 9 says. Those who know your name. Put their trust in you. Those who know your name. In other words. What you are.
[11:24] Your name is the sum of all that God is. Those who know his name. In other words. Those who know who God really is. Put their trust in him.
[11:34] Why? Because his name means. That's something I can trust. Right? So. The name points to his nature. And here's the thing. God is so glorious.
[11:45] So exalted. So infinite. So immeasurable. That no one name. Can sum him up. So God has. Many names. Doesn't he?
[11:56] He's got many names. He keeps revealing new names. All through the scripture. To Abraham. He will reveal himself. As El Shaddai. To. To.
[12:06] To. No. I'll skip that one. To. I can't think of the name. To. To. To Moses. Later. The bush. He revealed himself. By a new name. Yahweh.
[12:19] Tell him. Yahweh. Tell him. I have sent you. That's a new name. It wasn't new. But it was a new revelation. And on and on. God kept revealing himself.
[12:29] By new names. Which showed. Another facet. Of who he is. So. Here's. Here's something. I want us to do. Just take a little bit of time here. What are his names?
[12:41] I just want you to tell me. What are some of the names. Of God. El Shaddai. Jehovah. Alpha. Omega. What else? Merciful.
[12:52] Merciful. Abba. Abba. Very good. I am. I am. Wonderful counselor. Wonderful counselor. Right. Mighty. Mighty. Mighty. Alternative.
[13:02] There's all kinds of names. Let me give you an alphabetical list. He is the alpha. The almighty. He is the blessed. And the branch.
[13:13] He is the comforter. And the counselor. He is the deliverer. And the door of the sheep. He is Elohim. He is eternal. He is father.
[13:24] And faithful. He is glorious. And great. He is the healer. He is the holy one. He is the I am. The Emmanuel. He is Jesus. And the judge. He is king of kings.
[13:35] And lord of lords. He is lion. And the lamb. He is most. High. And mighty. He is. Omega. He is prince. And potter.
[13:47] He is rock. And redeemer. He is the savior. And the shield. He is the truth. And the teacher. He is unfathomable. Fathom. Okay. Unfathomable.
[13:58] He is the vine dresser. And the vine. He is wonderful. And a warrior. He is Yahweh. He is zealous. I left out Q and Z. And X. So X is excellent.
[14:09] Q is quite enormous. I don't know. Get it? That's not all of them. He has so many names.
[14:22] Because no one name. Or even just a few names. Can capture who he is. He is so immense. So in Exodus 34. Remember when Moses said.
[14:34] Lord show me your glory. I want to see your glory. He needed a little bit of encouragement. Moses was pretty tired by that point. So show me your glory. So God says I will.
[14:44] Go stand in the cleft of the rock. I'll put my hand. You can't see my face. Because you'll die. So I will walk by. And you'll see me. And then what happens next. Exodus describes that God walks.
[14:57] And does not actually. Well God says something. Here's what he says. God descended in a cloud. And stood with him. Moses there. And proclaimed the name of the Lord.
[15:10] He proclaimed the name of the Lord. The Lord passed before him. And proclaimed. Yahweh. Yahweh. A God merciful and gracious.
[15:22] Slow to anger. And abounding in steadfast love. And faithfulness. Keeping steadfast love for thousands. Forgiving iniquity and transgression. And sin.
[15:35] But. Who will by no means clear the guilty. Visiting the iniquity of the fathers. On the children. And the children's children. To the third and fourth generations.
[15:46] Who is God? How big is God? Is God love? Yes. Is God mercy? Yes. Is God forgiving? Yes.
[15:56] Is God just? Yes. Is God holy? Yes. He's all of that. So how do you. If he's forgiving. How do you. Get the forgiveness.
[16:07] When he doesn't acquit the guilty. How do you deal with that? That's. Jesus. Deals. To know his name is.
[16:23] To know him. His name is both mercy. And justice. And that remedy comes in Christ.
[16:34] That's how we come. To a holy and merciful God. So the first prayer is for God's name. His reputation. So what do we pray in regard to his name?
[16:48] What do we pray in regard to his reputation? What do we pray in regard to who he is? Jesus says pray this. Hallowed be your name.
[17:02] So what's that mean? Hallowed be. Holy. So you've heard of hallowed ground? Arlington National Cemetery.
[17:13] That's called. That's hallowed ground. Sacred. Sacred. Set apart. Nothing else to be done there. It's sacred. It's holy. Right? It's set apart.
[17:25] It's hallowed. So hallowed. We're asking that God's name. God's reputation.
[17:36] Be hallowed. Be set apart. Be holy. So it's a big, big concept. So let's break this down. Hallowed. So said, hallowed means holy.
[17:50] It means to sanctify. It means to set apart. So it's really interesting to me. With all our new translations, we still use the word hallowed. It's interesting.
[18:02] It's the King James word. It's Old English. And yet, ESV, NAS, all the new translations still use hallowed.
[18:14] Why? There's something sacred about this prayer. They don't want to change the words. But it still makes it for us today, who aren't used to older words, to know, how do I pray that?
[18:28] How is that a prayer? To hallowed. To sanctify. To set apart. To separate. To make distinct. To stand apart from.
[18:40] What is common. So, something that is holy, like hallowed ground, is set apart for distinction, right? You have China. Do you have China?
[18:50] We have China. When we got married, right, the sets of China were cheaper than the everyday wear, so we got a whole bunch of sets of China. When we got married, I had cancer then, and everybody felt bad for me, so we got lots and lots of China.
[19:03] We never use it, except every once in a while. Because it's set apart. It's not for everyday use. It's not common. But, promise we didn't have any, anyway.
[19:16] Can we use that? No, we can't use that. It's holy. That's the idea. So, his name, we're praying that his name be sacred, set apart, hallowed, unique, distinct.
[19:34] To pray this prayer is to pray that we treat him different than we treat anything else. That we treat him as distinct. So, how do you capture this?
[19:47] Right? Hallowed. Set apart. Okay, so here's the second part of this. So, it's hallowed, and then there's the word be. So, that's the verbal part.
[20:00] It's actually one word, hallowed be. But in English, it becomes two words. So, be. What's that? The verb. Is, okay. Ready? You want to write this down? Because it's a passive imperative.
[20:11] Passive. Oh, baby. Passive means it's happening to.
[20:23] Right? I'm not actively doing. It's passive. The work is coming at me. And then imperative. What's an imperative? It's imperative.
[20:34] It's command. Well, do I command God? No. So, imperative in reference to God becomes an entreaty, a prayer, a request. And I'm not commanding him outright.
[20:46] Like, I'm not saying, hallowed your name. I'm saying, let your name be hallowed. There's a passive part to it. Because it's a prayer, I'm asking God to do this.
[20:59] Now, what's interesting is in these prayers, isn't God going to do that anyway? Isn't he going to set his name apart?
[21:12] Well, we get to the third prayer, which is what? Thy will be done. Isn't he going to do that anyway? Why are we praying that? Well, because I need to pray that. And I also need to pray about his, I need to enter into having his name set apart.
[21:25] With me involved, with me watching, with me part of it. So, I'm praying, let this be.
[21:36] I'm saying, Father, cause your name to be set apart. Cause your name to be made distinct and unique.
[21:51] Cause your name to be central. Cause your name to be the priority. I don't know how you say this. There's so many different ways to say this. It's not a statement of praise.
[22:02] I used to think this was a statement. We're just saying, hallowed be your name. You're holy, God. You're holy. That's not that. It's a request. It's a prayer.
[22:14] We're asking God to do something about his reputation. To make his reputation known. So, one way you could pray this is, in fact, one way I pray this is, you know, hallowed be your name.
[22:29] Cause your name to be set apart. Reveal yourself. Reveal yourself. And I pray, for me, reveal yourself. Reveal your nature to my heart and my soul.
[22:43] I start with me because I'm the most needy. And I'm just, I need help. And then I can expand it. Cause your name to be set apart in our church, in our family, in my work, in my conversation.
[22:58] I don't know. You can apply it all kinds of different ways. Cause your name to be set apart. I say heart and soul because heart is my thoughts and intentions. And my thoughts and intentions can go haywire. And then my soul, talk about haywire.
[23:12] Right? My soul can go all kinds of different directions. I had to reel it in. So we're asking the Father to act.
[23:27] We're asking him to bring this about. And like I said, isn't he going to do that anyway? Well, I'm asking that I can be an observer or a participant in that.
[23:43] So put it together. How it would be. Make your name known. Cause your name to be set apart. Cause your reputation to be recognized by others.
[23:55] So that we would treat you as holy. So our first concern is to want who the Father is to be made obvious.
[24:06] More distinct. To be set apart. So that people notice God. That he doesn't blend in with things. That he. So we think of that for our worship.
[24:19] And I think that Christi prayed that at the beginning. In that sense of. You know, that we see him. That we know him. That we experience him. It's about him.
[24:30] Right? Right? So. So. What kind of impact would it make to pray this? I mean, what kind of applications does this have?
[24:44] I already talked about. Praying for my heart and my soul. Praying for. You could pray for our family. You could pray for our church. Cause your name to be set apart in our church. So that when people gather, they see you.
[24:55] That you are distinct. It's not about us. It's about you. That kind of prayer. What else? Well, I want you to hear. In Ezekiel 36.
[25:06] God is revealing something. He's going to do new. And it's going to be about his name. But what he does is interesting. So listen to this. Ezekiel 36.
[25:18] Says. Thus says the Lord God. It is not for your sake. Oh, house of Israel. That I'm about to act. But for the sake. Of my. Holy. Name.
[25:29] Which you have. Profaned among the nations. To which you came. I will vindicate. The holiness. Of my great name. Which has been profaned.
[25:40] Among the nations. Right. Today. Which has been. And which you have profaned. Among them. And the nations will know.
[25:51] That I am. The Lord. See. So he's. He's talking about his holy name. And he's talking about. People will know. Me. Because of what I'm going to do. I'm going to stand out.
[26:01] Because of what. I'm about to do. They will know. That I am the Lord. Declares the Lord. When. Through. You. I vindicate my holiness.
[26:14] Before their eyes. Now how's God going to do that? He's going to work. In the Israelites. Who have. Not. Kept his name holy. But have profaned his name.
[26:24] Among a nation. That profanes his name. Sounds like today. And God's going to vindicate. His holy name.
[26:35] When he acts. Through. These. Very. Unworthy. People. Here's what I will do. I will take you from the nations. And gather you from all the countries.
[26:47] And bring you into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you. And you will be clean from all your uncleanness. And from all your idols.
[26:58] I will cleanse you. Not done. I will give you a new heart. And a new spirit. I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh.
[27:10] And I will give you a heart of flesh. In other words a soft heart. And I will put my spirit within you. Still not done. And cause you to walk in my statutes.
[27:21] And be careful to obey my rules. How is God going to stand out? Because all of a sudden. His people are a changed people. They're clean. They have a new heart.
[27:33] They have a new spirit. And they have God's spirit within them. Moving them to do what's right. And that will set his name apart. By the way.
[27:46] Where does that apply? When did God do that? On the cross. Did he do it in your life?
[28:00] Did he change your heart? Did he give you a new heart? Give you a new spirit? Does he cause you to walk in his ways? Even though you're still kind of resistant? He overcomes your will. And he moves you and woos you.
[28:14] To confess and repent. And walk in his way. He's working on you. He's doing that. And in doing that. When people are saved. When we are converted.
[28:25] When we are repentant. That sets his name apart. Because we can say it wasn't me. It was him. It was him. It was him. It was him.
[28:37] That changed me. Here's another application. First Peter three. Imagine praying this. When you are in trouble. Or suffering. Or in disturbance. Because that's where Peter brings this up.
[28:49] First Peter three. Fourteen. Talks about. Even if you should suffer. For righteousness sake. Which means for doing the right thing.
[28:59] You suffer. You will be blessed. Have no fear of them. Nor be troubled. But do what? Instead of fear and anxiety.
[29:11] What do we do? In your hearts. Honor Christ as holy. Or another translation says. Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts.
[29:23] Another translation says. Hallowed Christ. As Lord in your hearts. Set him apart. There's an application of that very first prayer.
[29:34] I can pray. Father. Cause Christ. To be set apart. In my heart. As my Lord. That will change things.
[29:50] Sanctify Christ. As Lord. In your hearts. And then he goes on. What's the context? Always being prepared to make a defense. To anyone who asks you. For the reason. For the hope. That is in you.
[30:00] The context is evangelism. The preparation for evangelism. Is Christ being set apart. As Lord of our heart. That's the preparation.
[30:12] For talking to others. Lord. Sanctify. I have an opportunity to share. Sanctify. Sanctify Christ in my heart. As Lord. Always being prepared. To have an answer.
[30:23] Right. To anyone who asks you. For the reason. For the hope that is in you. Yet do so. With reverence. With gentleness. And respect. Having a good conscience. So that when you're slandered. Because that's going to happen. Those who revile your good behavior.
[30:35] In Christ. Will be put to shame. Because they're just lying. Okay. Application. Okay. Can you see how big this is?
[30:48] How big this prayer is? How big it can go? And if you're. If you're interested. To see how deep it goes. Go downstairs.
[30:58] And see what we did. So we walked it through. If you want more. If you need to fill out more notes. Go down. Fill out more notes. From the board downstairs. Because that was just us.
[31:08] Discussing what this looks like. There's lots of different ways. To say this. How would it be your name? I could say. I can simply say that prayer.
[31:20] As reveal yourself. Through your word. Through your spirit. I can say it that way. Because it's about God. Revealing himself. I can say about God. Make yourself distinct. In my.
[31:31] In my life today. As I'm with. Other people. There's. There's. A thousand ways to pray this. What I want you to get this morning.
[31:41] Is just. Just grab something. That makes sense for you. And use that. And if that starts to become. What's the word?
[31:54] Repetitious. Go back to your notes. And find another word. To make it. More. Fresh. Fresh. Because there's a lot of different words. We can use.
[32:05] For this prayer. That's still saying. Set apart. Make yourself distinct. Cause yourself to be separate. Cause yourself to be. To be central. To be. So anyways.
[32:17] To do this. And apply it. In my heart. In my family. Whatever. Okay. Let me get to this final thing. What difference does it make.
[32:28] To pray this prayer? What difference does it make. To pray this prayer first? Why do you think Jesus. Wants us to pray. About the name of God.
[32:43] Being. Set apart. Why. Why. Is that. The priority. Well in general. We say. Well. It's about God.
[32:54] And God's most important. So what does that do. When. When I got. When I'm anxious. To get to. Okay. My bread. I have real. I have needs today. I've got. I got ailments.
[33:05] I've got. You know. I've got physical issues. I've got. I'm feeling really guilty. And shame. Because of my sin. And I want to get to my. Forgiveness thing first. But he's telling me. Go here first.
[33:18] I'm in a spiritual battle. But he wants me. To go here first. To thy name. And then. Thy kingdom. Wait till we get to the kingdom. And then the will. Okay. You know. By the time we get through.
[33:29] One. Two. Three. Name. Kingdom. Will. Then I get to me. You know what it does? It purifies my faith. By praying about the things.
[33:39] That matter most. First. It purifies my faith. It purifies my prayers.
[33:52] To. Train myself. To pray about God. First. His reputation. Way before my reputation.
[34:07] It purifies my faith. Do you know. This is how Nehemiah prayed. In his prayer. In Nehemiah chapter 2. He prayed about the name of God. Do you know.
[34:18] That this is the way. That Daniel prayed. In Daniel chapter 9. He prayed about the name of God. Four times. Do you know. That this is the way. That Solomon prayed. When he dedicated the temple. He prayed about the name of God.
[34:31] Nine times. His reputation. His reputation. His reputation. That the temple. Would reflect.
[34:42] On the reputation. Of God. And again. In John 17. It's the way. Jesus prayed. Four times. He prayed for the name of God. Four times. In John 17.
[34:54] Before he went to the cross. And then secondly. Not only does it. Praying this way.
[35:06] Purify my heart. But also pray. It prepares me. To pray. According to his will. Because I don't want to start with.
[35:17] Thy will be done. You know. Because if I come. If I'm coming the way. I naturally come. It helps me to pray. For his name first.
[35:27] And then his kingdom. And then. It really prepares me. Then to pray. According to his will. To cause his name. To be set apart. Are you unsure.
[35:40] Of how to pray. For another person. Are you unsure. About how to pray. About a. Struggling situation. Are you unsure. And feel. Inadequate. About praying.
[35:51] About something. That is just too big. For you. Here's a start. Pray for God's name. To be set apart. In that situation.
[36:04] Because that's. The most. Important thing. And then. Pray for his kingdom. Which is about his power. And then pray for his will.
[36:14] Which is about his direction. And then. Pray for. The physical. And the relational. And the battle. If we grab hold of this.
[36:26] If we make. This. Our. Genuinely. First. Prayer. We will never. Lack. For what to pray.
[36:39] Never. Or how to pray. Now. Now. Romans 8. Does talk about. There's times. We don't even. We don't know how to verbalize. Something. Understood.
[36:50] We're. We're. We're. We're getting through this. But we're maybe getting. Into something deeper. Understood. That's where the Holy Spirit. Helps us. You know. Because we can't. But to get our prayers started.
[37:01] To get our prayers directed. This. Jesus has given us. An incredible. Roadmap. Not just for my daily prayer.
[37:11] But for our public prayer. For. Our family prayer. For. Any. Prayer. When I prayed in the capital.
[37:24] Guess what I prayed. I didn't just say these words. I added to each part. So I talked about. His name being set apart.
[37:35] In the way. People respond. In that assembly. I talked about. His will being done. And not individuals. Wills being done. I didn't talk about. I prayed for that.
[37:46] I made it. Apply. To that situation. And at least two people. Come up. At least two people. I think. Maybe. Come up and say. Thank you for that. Because he kept it short. So it didn't.
[37:57] You know. Be one of those. Long winded preachers. I don't know. Know what that's like. But. Anyway. I was kind of like.
[38:07] What do I pray. When I go to the capital. Huh. Hello. Got it. Got it. At least the structure. And how applicable.
[38:17] Was that for that. Really applicable. Because I made it about God. And about God's kingdom. And about God's will. Before we got to. The needs.
[38:28] That the assemblies did. And then the need. To forgive each other. Across the aisle. In there. Etc. And the recognition. That the evil one. Was at work.
[38:39] In that assembly. Because those that have eyes to see. Knew that. Those that were the puppets. Were not. Anyway.
[38:51] If you grab hold of this. Just. Just. Just taking a nugget of this. It will. Revelate. Revolutionize. And reform.
[39:02] And transform. Your prayer life. If you've never done this before. It will give you confidence. To pray. In any situation. Let's pray. Father. We thank you for.
[39:13] Your teaching. For your word. We thank you. Lord. That you give us. Priority in prayer. And so we pray this very prayer. We pray. That your name. Will be.
[39:25] Hallowed. Here. That your name. Would be. Set apart. In our thoughts. In our desires.
[39:40] Distinguish. Yourself. Father. In. Our. Soul. Distinguish.
[39:51] Yourself. Make yourself. Obvious. To us. Lord. In what you're doing. Right now. We're thinking about. We're praying. Weekly. For direction. As a church.
[40:04] And to know. Our direction. We need to know. What you're doing. And so. Father. We pray. You would make yourself. Obvious. In what you are doing. And who. You are.
[40:15] Directing yourself. To. We pray this. In Christ's name. Amen.
[40:25] Amen.
